Balancing Love and Life: Mikayla's Journey with Two Under Three
As I prepared to welcome my second boy, Jude, my perspective on motherhood shifted to embracing the chaos and finding joy in the unique bond siblings share. I've adjusted my expectations to prioritize flexibility and cherishing moments of connection amidst the busyness.
Our first boy, Mace, reacted with excitement and curiosity about becoming a big brother.
We've captured special moments of him talking to my belly, and now embracing his brother.
These memories are precious and have helped him feel involved in the change that comes with adding a baby. They truly haven't had any negative interactions with one another and it's been so beautiful to witness.
Reflecting on my first pregnancy, the second time feels more relaxed and confident. I'm more attuned to all that comes with parenting, trusting my instincts, whereas before, everything felt more uncertain and overwhelming.
The most valuable lessons from my first experience of motherhood include practicing patience, asking for help when needed, and prioritizing self-care. I plan to adapt these lessons by being even more proactive in seeking support and managing expectations.
Becoming a mother and welcoming Jude has deepened my artistic vision to focus on themes of growth, family dynamics, and capturing fleeting moments of childhood.
I'm drawn to projects that explore the beauty and challenges of parenthood in a more nuanced way. Photography is also a wonderful break away from home, I come back filled up and refreshed from practicing creativity.
1.The biggest challenge you foresee in becoming a mom of two under 3...
is balancing individual attention between both children while meeting their emotional needs.
2.The most rewarding part you foresee in becoming a mom of two under 3...
is witnessing their sibling bond develop and seeing them learn from each other.
3.As a mom, I rely most on..
my husband for support, my own resilience to adapt to changing circumstances, and the wisdom shared by fellow mothers who have experienced similar journeys.
